Itinerary

We leave Marrakech after breakfast and drive to Imlil (1740m) via the bustling market town of Asni. Imlil is the principal trailhead for trekkers in the Toubkal Region. This is where we meet our mule team and, once all our gear is loaded, we begin walking through a side valley that heads eastwards towards Tacheddirt, some 8 km away. At first the trail rises as we climb up to the pass of Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m) after which we descend on the far side to the pretty village of Ouaneskra (2200m) in the Imenane Valley. We then continue gently upriver for a further half-hour or so to Tacheddirt (2300m), where we set up camp near the riverside.

1.5 hours transfer and 5 hours walking, approximately.

After breakfast, walk up Tizi n’Tachdirte pass and then down to Ibbassen village, nice view toward Imnane valley, continue down along the valley to Timichi village, authentic Berber villages, and you can see how the berber people live in the mountains.

Overnight in a guest house in the village.

  Six hours walking.

we  gonna enjoy a gentle walk from Timichchi to Setti Fadma (1700m). Along the way we pass through a string of Berber villages that line the banks of the Ourika Valley: first Tiourdiou, then Anfli and afterwards Tadrart. After lunch we continue via Agadir n’Aït Boulmane and on to the centre of Setti Fadma. If there is enough time we will visit a charming waterfall above Setti Fadma before returning to Marrakech.

4 to 5 hours walking and 1.5 hours transfer, approximately

A Brilliant Trip We have been on a couple of cycling trips before and this one was probably the best. Tri our guide was outstanding and all our fellow cyclists were a great bunch of people. We got a real flavour of life in Vietnam. Lots of interesting food. The meals were good and plentiful. Thought we would lose weight but didn't! Good Hotels. Many highlights but a couple or so to point out,Whale Island and Hoi An, the 30km exhilarating downhill ride and cycling in city centre traffic...... great fun but leaves your heart racing. It is quite full on which leaves you wanting to spend more time in some of the places visited. The usual pattern is arrive at 5 - 6 pm, leave at 7.15 next morning. However we did find time to swim in the hotel pools. Overnight train was great fun ....all part of the adventure. To cover the length of the country there are some longish times in the bus but the bus was comfortable but great chance to talk with your fellow travellers. This also gives you time to see more of the country and people watch. Staggered us how much could be piled on a scooter! The bikes were ideal for the road conditions as well as being clean and very well maintained. At the frequent refreshment/rest stops there was lots of juice, water, fruit, nuts and biscuits. The driver and bike mechanic were very friendly and very competent. Great organization, things happened when Tri said they would.

Another exciting adventure with Exodus

Another exciting adventure with this tour company. Our trip was at the end of April/beginning of May and it was very hot !!!! I'm told June/July is even hotter. Phew !!!!Despite this I loved every minute of it.It was a very busy trip but extremely well organised. I very much liked the additional drink stops as it was so very hot. Home made chilled lime was just the thing. I also very much liked Lam pre-booking the meals and us all going together. He found some wonderful places and we had delicious fresh food. There just isn't time to find somewhere yourself. This really worked well.We were lucky to be with a super group of people. Everyone happy and smiling and enjoying every moment..................well................except a few of the group who did get a bit sore. Please do get yourself some chamois butter and padded pants. It works a treat. It worked well having all the cycling in the beginning. The train was much better than I had expected and I slept like a log !!! Whale Island and Halong Bay were real treats and I would have loved more time there. But, overall, the trip was perfect for timing as it kept us within the 15 day Visa limit and we saw and did so much.Despite being informed in writing by the tour operator that our big holdalls/suitcase stays with us all the time......this was not the case. You do need to have a rucksack or flat pack bag big enough for the one and two night stays (Whale Island and Halong Bay). In fact......it works very well to just take small luggage. Much easier to do once you get your head around it.I found the cycling easy compared with other trips I've done but I do feel it is right to be called a Level 3. Everyone cycles slightly differently and there is always a bit of a mix of abilities........which makes for a good group cycle I think

Amazing country, beautifully seen from the seat of a bicycle. So many unusual sights - friendly people (attractive, relaxed, smiling, shouting hello); fields of rice, coffee, rubber, eucalyptus, dragon fruit, etc., farmers herding brown cows and water buffalo; basic living conditions, cooking, eating and washing-up in the open, spilling out onto pavement; scooters everywhere and crazy driving but it seems to work, no road rage; great respect for older people and ancestors (colourful cemeteries and every house has small ancestral shrine). Came back with a real feel for the country, wanting to learn more.
